A Dream Come True! Almost..

This is a true story on how an unscrupulous property developer shortchanged ALL buyers of Andari Townvillas (initially launched as Amandari Townvillas, i'll tell you why they have changed the name later, below is from a reprinted brochure) located at Bandar Baru Selayang, Selangor, Malaysia. I have chosen a pitch BLACK background for this blog as this is a DARK chapter that will be marked permanently in Malaysian property market history brought about by Dergahayu Sdn Bhd.

I remembered it all started in the year 2003 while i was seeking for a property to settle down in Kuala Lumpur. And i saw this amazing project called "Amandari Townvillas @ Selayang Heights" launched by Dergahayu Sdn Bhd & its "adik" company, Syabas Pemaju Sdn Bhd as the developer. Unique concept, low density living, exclusive facilities like swimming pool & gym, to be built on an elevated ground amidst green surroundings with reasonable price. Looking at the brochures and the location, it was love at first sight..

I held my "tear of joy", knowing what most property developers in Malaysia are infamous for (a sad true fact..) & doing what a reasonable person would do, i embark on my own little journey researching on this developer, digging whatever "tales" that i can find on them.. To my surprise, it came out almost squeeky clean, maybe due to not too many prominent projects done by them, althought they claimed to have a history that goes back to 1975... err, maybe building some "rumah papan"..

Of course at that point of time, i was convinced enough and thinking what the heck, even with the squeeky clean record, any good developer can still turn sour. Not long after that, i parted with my hard earned money for the downpayment for a unit in Phase 2 and join the other equally joyful buyers like myself, on a standard 36 months of waiting for our dream to come true...
